Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in sectors that support sustainable growth and economic diversification. The meeting reflected the steady expansion of UAE Serbia relations, supported by regular exchanges at the leadership level and increasing institutional cooperation.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reiterated the UAE’s approach to building partnerships based on mutual respect and shared interests. He emphasized the country’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Serbia across economic and development focused sectors. President Vučić welcomed the engagement and underlined Serbia’s interest in deepening collaboration with the UAE, particularly in areas aligned with national development priorities and international sustainability efforts.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common concern. They emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing economic challenges and supporting stability. The discussions took place against the backdrop of a rapidly changing global environment, with both countries underscoring the value of maintaining open communication and coordination through established diplomatic channels.

UAE Serbia relations have grown over the past decade, with cooperation agreements and joint initiatives spanning multiple sectors. Emirati investments in Serbia have included aviation, real estate, agriculture, and other strategic industries. Serbia has also positioned itself as a regional hub in Southeast Europe, offering access to broader European markets. Political engagement at the highest level has been a consistent feature of the relationship.

    Sustainability and development priorities discussed

The timing of the meeting during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week underscored the shared focus on sustainability and development. The global forum serves as a platform for addressing climate related challenges, energy security, and innovation. During the meeting, the leaders discussed opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure, reflecting priorities that align with the objectives of the international event.

Serbia has been working to diversify its energy sources and improve energy efficiency as part of its broader development agenda. The UAE has emerged as a major investor and partner in clean energy projects globally. Both sides acknowledged the relevance of cooperation in these areas, particularly through structured partnerships that involve public and private sector participation and support long term economic resilience.

The discussions also covered trade and investment facilitation, with an emphasis on creating stable and transparent conditions for businesses. The leaders noted the importance of strengthening institutional frameworks and encouraging exchanges between companies and investment entities from both countries. Existing bilateral agreements were cited as a foundation for continued economic engagement.
